Bookkeeping Service Houston When the papers are unsorted

A stack of unsorted papers is not a closed month. Steven Palmieri, a Tax CFO, starts with us at the newest month whose bank lines already tie out.

Where catch up starts

We do not begin by sorting every scrap. We begin with the bank. The last month that matches is the floor. Everything after it is the catch up, in order, one month at a time.

Receipts matter when they change a category or support a question the bank cannot answer. They do not matter as a pile. If you have them, keep them. If you do not, say so. We will name the few receipts that change a category, and the rest can stay in your drawer.

The monthly rhythm starts after the open months are finished, not instead of them. A retainer with a year of unfinished months is a cleanup that has not introduced itself. We introduce it.

Start at the bank

How long it takes to say

On the first call we can usually say how far back the catching up goes, because the bank file shows the gap. The work itself takes the months it takes. We will not quote a fairy tale duration on this page.

Ordinary selling days keep going while we finish months the bank has not agreed with yet. The shop does not close for the cleanup. Catching up starts at the earliest month the bank has not agreed with, and that month's activity comes before the newer ones.

A Texas note

Ninfa's started in a tortilla factory, and the fajita on that menu is part of how a lot of Texans learned the dish. We can all appreciate that plate. Even if the papers are still packed away, the cost of that meal belongs in the month the plate went out.

Name the floor

Send the old month

Name the oldest month you think is still open, even if you are guessing.

You will be talking to the Steven Palmieri practice.
